GPS Lockbox

This patent pending device is the first and only unit that eliminates the standard i335 battery and replaces it with a battery block that is powered directly from the vehicles battery. This eliminates all charging and battery life issues that may occur throughout the duration of the GPS application. This new BEM will also power the i335 on and allow it to automatically launch the GPS tracking program when the ignition in the vehicle is turned on. When the ignition is turned off the BEM will turn the phone off within two minutes, which allow some GPS software to communicate back to customer that the vehicle is now shut off. Tracking idle time of a vehicle is a valuable benefit to fleet managers that are watching their fuel consumption and therefore conserving fuel and potentially saving thousands of dollars in operating cost. Turning the phone off and on also refreshes the GPS Software, which is recommended by several GPS Software venders to insure proper operation of their tracking programs.

The GPS Lockbox offers an excellent permanent mounting solution for the Motorola i335. It allows you to enclose the phone completely, preventing access to the phone and its function OR by removing the top and allowing you to see and use the phone while having it safely locked in the box. When the GPS lockbox is used as an open unit the power button is covered so the vehicle operator is not able to turn the phone on or off, but is still able to utilize the communication features. The built-in turn key locking system prevents theft and tampering of the phone.
